Striking Times Exhibition
The “Striking Times: Memories of the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike” exhibition is a collaborative project between Beamish Museum, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums and The North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers.
JUMP was commissioned to design and brand the exhibition in order to highlight the experiences of individuals involved in the Miners’ Strike, as well as exploring how some mining communities have evolved since the closure of the mines.
Following the success of the installation at the Regional Resource Centre at Beamish Museum, South Shields Museum & Art Gallery has been added to the list of host venues. The exhibition can currently be viewed at the Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers in Newcastle until 16 October 2009.
